We’re Not Perfect

We’re Not Perfect, And We’re Okay With That

Let’s be real, Dad and the Frog Café isn’t for everyone.

Our interior space is compact, and when the weekend rush hits, it gets cozy. We’re perched on a corner of Surry Hills that’s sunny and open, but that also means our alfresco area is exposed to the rain (umbrellas help, but it’s Sydney). And if frogs aren’t your thing, well, the name’s a giveaway.

We also get busy. Like, line-out-the-door-on-a-Sunday busy. If you’re planning to visit for brunch, especially with a group, we always recommend you book a table.

Why People Keep Coming Back

Despite (or maybe because of) our quirks, we’ve become a local favourite. Why?

Our coffee is really, really good. Smooth, strong, specialty grade, just the way it should be.

The food is thoughtful and fresh, with house made sauces, relishes and fermented goods that make every dish pop.

Service is warm and efficient, we’ll remember your order and even your dog’s name if you come in twice.

The atmosphere is laid back, a little eclectic, and totally welcoming.

Our outdoor seating is perfect on sunny days, and we’ve got five-star pram parking (shout out to the locals with little ones).

It’s a moment of escapism, without having to leave the neighbourhood.

A Surry Hills Café That Feels Like Home

We’re proud to be a Surry Hills café that stands out not just for the food, but for the experience. Whether you’re in for a weekday lunch, a relaxed coffee catch-up, or a lazy weekend breakfast, we’re here for it.

We're not trying to be the best café in Sydney, we're just trying to be your favourite.

☕ Ready to experience it for yourself? Book a table now and come see what all the fuss is about.
