When we opened Dad and the Frog on Fitzroy Street in 2022, the plan was simple. Cook for people the way you would at home, in your own kitchen, for people you actually care about. That was the whole idea. Somewhere along the way it grew legs.

Offices around the neighbourhood started asking if we could feed their teams. A few morning meetings turned into proper morning teas. Boardroom lunches became a regular thing. Before we knew it, our little Surry Hills café was quietly doing corporate catering right across the inner city.

That part of what we do has now grown up enough to deserve its own name. So we would like you to meet From Dad Catering.

A different service, the same heart

From Dad Catering is its own thing, with its own home online. But it comes out of the same kitchen, made by the same people, built on the same belief that has run through Dad and the Frog since day one.

We have always said we are not really in the food business. We are in the business of capturing the feeling, not the food. A sandwich is a sandwich. What people actually remember is how they felt while they ate it. Looked after. Thought of. Fed the way family feeds you. That is the bit we obsess over, and it is exactly what we are bringing to office catering across Surry Hills and the wider inner city Sydney.

Everything that matters, frankly.

The food is still made by hand in our kitchen, with the same house made special ingredients we put on the plate every day at the café. The dressings, the sauces, the bits most kitchens buy in a tub, we still make ours from scratch. The team is the same crew you already trust, led by me and the kitchen. And the care is the same care, just sent out the door to your office instead of plated at our counter.
